I learned on the painful, icy slopes of Wisconsin, and since then I've been to Breckenridge, Whistler, Jackson Hole, Telluride, and Crested Butte.
In 2008 I got a 3rd degree shoulder separation in Telluride :( I hit an icy patch on a mogul run, caught an edge, flipped over a bump going backwards, and landed on more ice. I remember flying through the air thinking, "I should have landed by now."
I ALWAYS wear my helmet...
I was a little wimpy in 2009 in Crested Butte. We didn't get new snow, so the snow was hard! I was nervous about catching an edge and hurting my shoulder again, so I was always the last one down every run. I've become a powder snob because I love the soft cushion!
My friend Lester took this shot of Crested Butte from the Silver Eagle chairlift. Very cool.
