NYC was amazing! I got the opportunity to go with my school band this past year, with my dad coming along. The trip was hectic, on a charter bus for 18 hours, but it was definitely worth it. We stayed the night at Holiday Inn in Jersey. The first day setting foot in NYC, me and my buddies toured Chinatown and took a cab to Greenwich Village. Too bad everything was closed... Following that, we took a subway train, then walked to the Empire State Building and got to see an amazing view of The Big Apple. Afterwards, we all went to Times Square and ate lunch at Bubba Gump's Shrimp. That night, we dressed up and went to Broadway to see either The Phantom of the Opera or The Lion King! My choice was Phantom. I wanted to absorb as much culture as possible, and the Majestic Theatre was the older of the two. Plus, Phantom has a rich history and is a must-see. The next day, we went to a mall in Jersey to shop, then went to Memorial Auditorium to perform once as the concert symphonic band, next as the jazz band. Following that, we went to see the New York Philharmonic Orchestra! The next morning, we headed to the Hard Rock Cafe for the awards ceremony and breakfast, then got the pleasure of touring Times Square for 5 hours. Definitely an amazing trip.
